To mark the introduction of the Lucid brand, Lucid Motors has begun deliveries of their Lucid Air Dream Edition. Starting at $229,000 CAD, the Dream Edition is no economy car. Stylish, new-world designs are like something we have never seen before. My personal opinion on the beauty of the car varies depending on the exact specification chosen. In a darker paint job, the car is truly stunning.
The power terrain offered by Lucid is a Duel ActiveCore dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. This power configuration puts out what Lucid describes on their website as “up to 1,111hp.” It is interesting to see a car whose deliveries start today (October 30th, 2021) still have unreal specifications and stats.
One thing that does stand out to me is the expected range. The Air claims range per full charge of 836km. Speaking of charging, the Air Dream Edition can DC Charge up to 300kW and AC Charging is 19.2kW. Lucid claims a 0-100KPH of “approximately 2.5-2.7s” which is a great way to get yourself plus 4 others to highway speeds.
An up-and-coming band no doubt, Lucid is a company to watch. Sleek design and an effective marketing scheme have raised Lucid to the forefront of the minds of the automotive world.
